Multi-spectal high-precision scanning polarimeter ScanPol serves for precise orbital measurements of the intensity and polarization of sunlight scattered by the atmosphere and the surface

  • I, U, Q Stokes parameters at 6 spectral channels simultaneously
  • spectral bands (nm): 370, 410, 555, 865, 1380, 1610
  • spectral bands width, FWHM: 20 nm (60 nm for 1380 nm and 1610 nm channels)
  • signal-to-noise: ~2000 for albedo 0.1 and Solar zenith angle 60º (400 for 370 nm channel)
  • FOV across track: 0.5º (6 km at the Earth surface) 

Panoramic camera PanCam serves to distinguish scene "aerosol/cloud" with one pixel of ScanPol spatial resolution and (optional) to measure aerosol optical depth and aerosol size estimation over ocean
